Eastern Regional Police Commander Stephen Kipruto Chebet yesterday held a consultative meeting with the Embu County security leadership to review performance, discuss emerging security concerns, and strengthen service delivery across the county.
The meeting, held at the County Command brought together senior officers from the Kenya Police Service and the DCI.
Discussions focused on the prevailing security situation in Embu County, public order management, emerging crime trends, and strategies aimed at enhancing safety and security within the region.
Chebet emphasized the need for commitment, professionalism, and teamwork in improving public safety and service delivery.
He urged officers to respond promptly and effectively to security challenges within their areas of responsibility.
He also engaged officers at station level, beginning with personnel from Itabua and Embu Police Stations, as well as traffic officers attached to Embu West Base.
During the interaction, he underscored the importance of delivering quality services to members of the public while strictly adhering to the rule of law.
Chebet also expressed concern over cases of poor grooming and lack of professionalism among some officers, directing all personnel to maintain high standards of appearance and discipline.
He further cautioned against drug and alcohol abuse within the service, stating that such conduct would not be tolerated.
On behalf of the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, the Regional Commander commended officers for their dedication and good work, urging them to continue upholding the Service’s code of conduct and professional standards.
In his closing remarks, he challenged officers to strive for excellence in their individual and collective responsibilities.
“Let us all aspire to be great—individually, for Embu County, for the Eastern Region, for the Police Service, and above all, for our great country,” he said.
