A 45 year old man was left in critical condition yesterday after suffering multiple head injuries during a mob justice incident linked to a politically charged attack in Transmara East,Narok County.
The incident was reported yesterday at Emurua Dikirr Police Station following an attack at Chilani Block One in Emurua Dikirr Location.
According to police reports, the area chief, Richard Chesimet, informed officers that a group of about 20 armed goons allegedly linked to DCP supporters stormed the homestead of 66 year old Gedion Terer, described as a UDA supporter.
The attackers, armed with bows and arrows, reportedly launched the raid at the family.
Police officers on patrol led by the OCS rushed to the scene after receiving the distress report.
Neighbours are said to have responded after an alarm was raised, successfully repulsing the attackers.
During the chaos, one David Langat was cornered by the mob and subjected to mob justice within the complainant’s compound.
He sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Emurua Dikirr Sub-County Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Police recovered one broken bow and two arrows at the scene, which were preserved as exhibits as investigations continue.
The matter is being investigated by officers from Emurua Dikirr Police Station.
