A 36 year old man is nursing serious burn injuries after his wife poured hot cooking oil on him in Miti Moja area, Turbo,Uasin Gishu County.
The incident according to police at Baharini police station occurred on today at around 2.00pm.
Police identified the victim, as Abdifartah Sheikh Adan who had reportedly returned home and was resting in his bedroom ahead of a planned trip to visit his second wife in Nairobi.
While he was resting, his first wife, Suadow Abdullahi, with whom they have eight children, entered the room, pulled down his kikoi and poured hot cooking oil on him.
The attack left him with severe burns on the chest, stomach, genitals, and both thighs.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect was opposed to her husband’s planned visit to his second wife, which may have triggered the assault.
The victim was rushed to Eldoret Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Police have launched investigations into the incident.
