A man has died after he was allegedly attacked by a mob on suspicion of stealing a hen in Siginga Sub-location, Bunyala,Busia County.
The incident occurred at around 4am on Monday after the man was reportedly found stealing the hen.
According to a police report,area Chief Alfred Namwekera reported the incident to Port Victoria Police Station, prompting officers from the station and DCI Bunyala to visit the scene.
Police found the lifeless body of an unidentified man lying at the scene with visible injuries all over his body, suspected to have been inflicted during the mob attack.
The scene was processed before the body was transferred to Port Victoria Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination.
Police have opened investigations into the incident, with DCI Bunyala handling the case.
