Life teaches us that our actions have consequences. Ecclesiastes 10:8 reminds us to walk with wisdom, caution, and discernment. A person who digs a pit intending to trap another may eventually fall into it. Someone breaking through a wall may encounter a hidden snake. What appears harmless can carry unexpected danger.
This is a warning against acting carelessly, wickedly, or without considering the consequences. Not every opportunity should be pursued, and not every battle requires your involvement. Sometimes wisdom means knowing when to stop, when to wait, and when to seek God’s direction.
Be careful what you build, what you destroy, what you say, and what you pursue. Before making decisions, ask yourself: “Where could this path lead me?”
God wants you to walk wisely, not fearfully. Let His Word guide your steps and His Spirit give you discernment.
Pray to God to give you wisdom to recognize hidden dangers and discernment to make the right decisions. Keep you from actions that could bring destruction upon your life. Guide your steps and teach you to walk wisely.
