DCP leader and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has declared that Kenya is heading for a 2002 style political moment.
Rigathi said this on Tuesday at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri county when he met former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

Gachagua praised Ngilu, describing her as the Iron Lady of Kenyan politics and crediting her with playing a key role in crafting the NARC strategy that ended KANU’s rule in 2002 alongside the late President Mwai Kibaki, the late ex Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the late VicePresident Kijana Wamalwa.
He said that from today’s talks he benefited from Ngilu’s experience and insights on building a united opposition to defeat corruption, impunity and steer Kenya towards prosperity.
Gachagua promised that the opposition would settle on one presidential candidate capable of winning the 2027 General Election by a landslide.
